We're at 82 High Street, Harpenden, AL5 2SP, situated at the north end of Harpenden High Street, close to Nonna's Cafe and other lovely spots for coffee or food.

Is there parking available?

Yes! There's plenty of free on-street parking around Harpenden town centre. Please check the signs on parking bays as time limits vary from 30 minutes to two hours.

The closest car park to the salon is Lydekker Car Park.

What products do you use?

We work exclusively with some of the highest quality, most effective products in the industry, including L'Oréal Professional, Kérastase and Olaplex.

What services do you offer?

Our stylists are experts in all aspects of hair colouring including balayage, classic highlights, full colour changes, grey coverage and fashion colours. We also offer precision haircuts tailored to your personal style, and can help whether you're maintaining your look or going for a complete makeover.

If you're worried about frizz, we also offer keratin smoothing treatments, plus we have a professional hair extensions service.

Do you offer haircuts for children?

Yes, we do.  Please note that for Saturday appointments, as this is our busiest day of the week, children's appointments booked on Saturdays have a minimum charge of £20 per appointment, regardless of age.

Standard pricing applies for the rest of the week.

Do I need a skin allergy patch test before my hair colour appointment?

Yes, you'll need a skin allergy patch test at least 48 hours before your hair colour appointment if you are:

  • a new client to Johnson Blythe
  •  have coloured your hair elsewhere or at home since your last visit
  • have had Covid since your last hair colour appointment (as this can increase your sensitivity to hair dyes).

The test is quick and easy and our receptionists can help you arrange it.  Please note that if you do not have a valid allergy test on file, your colour appointment will have to be cancelled.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible.

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will incur a 50% cancellation charge (or loss of deposit if paid), which will either be charged directly or added to your next appointment bill.

If you're running late, please contact us immediately. Depending on availability, you may need to wait for the next available stylist, though the charge for your originally booked stylist may still apply.
