Johnson Blythe Hairdressing Salon Hertford – Skin Allergy Patch Testing Policy

At Johnson Blythe we use only top-quality hair colour products from L’Oreal, but regular patch testing is still essential to ensure that you will not suffer an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients.

Patch testing is a quick and simple procedure that involves applying a small amount of the colour product we will be using behind your ear or on your wrist. 

You will need to wait 48 hours after having your test before your hair colour appointment, to check for any signs of an allergic reaction.   This can include redness, itchiness or swelling.

Johnson Blythe Patch Testing Requirements

At Johnson Blythe we require a patch test before colouring your hair if :

• You are NEW to Johnson Blythe 
• You have not had a patch test with us for 12 months or more
• You have had your hair coloured elsewhere or at home since your last visit
• You have suffered from COVID-19 since your last patch test (as this can change your sensitivity to products).
